Our Story
Screw Pile Solutions began in 2010 when founder Ed Heppner was introduced to helical screw piles as an alternative to concrete while working with a construction engineer near Austin, Manitoba. Ed quickly saw their advantages for our varying prairie soils and for keeping property disruption to a minimum, and he built a company around getting the job done right the first time.
In 2015, Chad Bodnarchuk joined the leadership team and later became President, bringing a background in finance, planning, and business management. Under Chad, the company grew its installation work into Saskatchewan while staying rooted in the Austin community.
In 2022 the company rebranded from Firm Foundations for You Inc. to Screw Pile Solutions Ltd. to reflect its specialized focus — same crew, same process, same customer focus, under a name that says exactly what we do.
What We Do
We install certified helical screw pile foundations for homes, ready-to-move (RTM) houses, cabins, decks, agricultural buildings, and commercial projects across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Screw piles go in fast, work in a wide range of soil conditions, and are ready to build on immediately — no cure time, no big excavation, no waiting around.
Our Process
Building or renovating can be tricky business. Our promise to get the job done right the first time guides everything we do, from the first call to project completion.
1. Initial Call
We’ll hop on a call to discuss screw piles and if we’re the right fit for your project.
2. Discovery Process
We discuss a plan making sure helical piles is the right solution, then review engineered plans if applicable.
3. Budget Process
We assess all financial aspects of the project to prepare a detailed, comprehensive budget.
4. Budget Approval
After any questions or concerns are covered, your approval of the budget gets the gears in motion.
5. Schedule Installation
A pile layout drawing for the installation crew is created and we determine the best time to begin.
6. Installation
When our crew wraps up, the appropriate connection heads to build on will be ready for trades to begin immediately.
7. No Down Time
There is no down time after installation. Your Screw Pile Solutions foundation is ready to be built on immediately.
8. Invoice & Documentation
The site is released and invoice is issued. A Pile Load Report and detailed pile layout drawing is included with your building inspection package.

Our Leadership
Ed Heppner — Founder
Ed founded the company in 2010 after recognizing the advantages of helical screw piles for Manitoba’s varying soil conditions. He believes buildings and relationships should both be built to last on a solid foundation.
Ed also serves as Reeve of the Municipality of North Norfolk and is a member of the Austin & District Chamber of Commerce — a reflection of the community leadership he brings to everything he does.
Chad Bodnarchuk — President
Chad joined the management team in 2015 and has served as President since, bringing a background in finance, strategic planning, and business management. He led the company’s growth into Saskatchewan while keeping Screw Pile Solutions an anchor in the Austin community.
